Prom was last weekend and I had a great time. A quick update from my last blog: I went to state honors orchestra and got first chair. :) Very cool. The conductor was a really cool guy from Vermillion, South Dakota, which is neat because we nearly moved there. We almost moved to a LOT of places, but in the end is was either Vermillion or Dubuque. We chose Dubuque, but had we chosen Vermillion, I would be studying with this guy next year! :o anyway, he places the bass like nobody I've ever seen before. Absolutely GORGEOUS. His bass just became a part of him. The way he handled it and played it, it was like an extention of his body, mind and soul. Amazing how he did it. It sounded better than my cello. I now have a completely new appreciation for the string bass that I've never had before. He played a violin solo on it. I asked him if there was music I could get, and he sent it to me for free, along with the piano accompaniment! What an awesome guy. I'm excited to learn the cello arangement for it. It's beautiful.
Anyway, here's some prom pictures! :) There are a few where there's a photographer also in the picture. I'll get those pictures next week.
I went with my good friend Marlynn. Neither of us were asked out, so we had a goal to look so gorgeous so that the next day at church, the guys would be jealous that they didn't ask us at all. :) hehehe. (it worked! haha loved it. The guys were talking to me and watching me and everything.... ahh I could live with that! Man! Let's do it again! haha)

7 days
Boy am I tired of higschool girls and stupid drama and rumors and being treated like I'm unimportant and getting that look from whispering girls that they're gossiping about something they don't specifically want you to hear.
I'm so tired of it. It's so rediculous.
They don't even understand. They don't understand what I know, how I think, they don't understand that growing up doesn't just mean getting older. There's a WHOLE lot more to it. And it's not something that you can just teach somebody, you have to learn it for yourself. And you have to be willing to. You have to really work at it, really be willing to accept it, and let go of your self pride and silliness.
I could go way into this, but I don't have the time.
I have a long weekend ahead of me, starting tomorrow.
Thursday: orthodontist at 1. Leave for Des Moines at 3:30. (school inbetween)
Friday: State honors orchestra in Des Moines ALL DAY. Chair auditions, sectionals, rehearsals, find food I can actually eat, concert that night, get home around midnight.
Saturday: Get ready for prom allllll daaaayy. Then go do prom stuff.
Sunday: Look nice at church from prom, seminary graduation in Davenport that evening.
